Festival of India & Colours

I was happy to participate in the opening ceremonies of the 13th Festival of India and Festival of Colours.

A huge thank you to the organizers of the festival. The colours, music, singing and dancing show a joy for life and a celebration of thousands of years of tradition. Thank you to all involved for giving us the opportunity to learn, embrace and enjoy the culture of India right here in Thunder Bay.

Canadian Coast Guard 60th Anniversary

I was happy to bring greetings and best wishes on behalf of the Government of Ontario to the Canadian Coast Guard on the occasion of their 60th Anniversary.

The event highlighted the long history and vital role that the Coast Guard provides in Canada. As well, today marked the 64th birthday of the ship, Alexander Henri.

Alstom Tour

Met with management and union representatives at Alstom. I was given a tour of the facility and discussed future work at the plant.

I was excited to learn of Alstom’s commitment to the plant here in Thunder Bay and the investments planned to sustain operations for the future.

Community Shoutouts

Police Hero Award

Congratulations to Megan Petzel, a local 911 dispatcher, for receiving the Police Hero Award.

Thanks to her resourcefulness and quick thinking, she likely saved a young women’s life.
