    Announcements & Investments

Youth Wellness Hub coming to Thunder Bay

I am very excited to announce that the provincial government is launching a new Youth Wellness Hub to serve Thunder Bay and the surrounding areas by 2025.

This new hub will connect youth aged 12 to 25 and their families to convenient and free mental health, substance use, primary care, and Indigenous healing and well-being services in a safe, youth-friendly space. I am proud to acknowledge the many youth and adult allies who played a vital role in amplifying the youth voice through safe, inclusive, and meaningful engagement. These youth-adult partnerships shall form the very foundation of our YWH and empower youth as co-designers of service and program delivery improvements.

The hub will be led by the Children’s Centre Thunder Bay and a network of community partners, including Anishnawbe Mushkiki, Dilico, Anishinabek Family Care, and the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre.

A special thank you to Premier Ford, Minister Sylvia Jones, and Associate Minister Michael Tibollo for their steadfast support in launching Youth Wellness Hubs across Ontario. Additionally, a big thank you to Diane Walker and Rob Dueck, whose tremendous work made this achievement possible.

This hub has been much needed in our community and is the result of two mental health and addictions roundtables we held with both ministers earlier last year. I cannot emphasize enough how great this Youth Wellness Hub is for our communities. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this possible.
