$1 Million Investment in Reviving Boreal Caribou

Honoured to join Minister Andrea Khanjin at Sleeping Giant Park for a landmark agreement with Biigtigong Nishnaabeg. This near $1M investment will be pivotal in reviving the boreal caribou along Lake Superior’s north shore.

$1.65 Million towards Lakehead Agricultural Research Station

Exciting news for Lakehead University Research & Innovation!

I announced an invest of up to $1.65 Million towards the Lakehead Agricultural Research Station.

This joint investment from the Federal and Provincial governments of Ontario is pivotal for developing innovation and best practices for Northern Ontario Agriculture.

Touring our Forest Management with Minister Khanjin

Witnessed first-hand the finesse of our forest management with Minister Andrea Khanjin. It’s impressive to see how effective the harvest and replanting process is compared to areas where nature’s might has reshaped the forest.

This tour was a true eye-opener to the value of conservation efforts.

Minister Khanjin and Minister McCarthy Meet and Greet

Thank you to everyone who came out to the meet and greet with Ministers Andrea Khanjin and Todd McCarthy on Monday.

I truly appreciate the support I’ve been receiving from the community and ministries, I will continue to work hard to make events like these possible and to bring more advancements to Thunder Bay – Atikokan. Minister Khanjin and McCarthys visit marks number 48 and 49 for the amount of times ministers have visited the riding since June of 2022!

Remembrance Day 2023

Spent the last two days remembering our heroes. Laid a wreath at Fort William Gardens and another laid at the Royal Canadian Slovak Legion.

Today, I also joined the service in Kakabeka with Mayor Lucy Kloosterhuis. We will never forget those who sacrificed so we can live in freedom. Les we forget.

OPP Graduation Ceremony

I recently had the opportunity to support local OPP graduates by attending their graduation ceremony in Orillia. While there I met with deputy commissioner who started his career with the OPP at the Kakabeka detachment.

Was honoured to attend her swearing in ceremony at Queens Park.

Louis Riel Flag Raising

I was honored to speak at the Louis Riel flag raising at Queens Park. Riel’s legacy of courage and commitment to the Métis people inspires us all.

As we raised the flag, it was a reminder of the rich heritage and ongoing contributions of the Métis community in shaping our nation.

4th Annual TBPS Tree Lighting

Attended the 4th annual tree lighting ceremony last week at the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters.

Appointment of Judge David Isbester

We welcomed our newest judge, David Isbester, to the Thunder Bay Justice. Judge Isbester brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to his new role. Wishing you all the best in this position and as you get settled in our city.

We also had the honor of hosting Attorney General Doug Downey, marking the 50th ministerial visit since my election!

Louis Riel Day

Thank you for the invitation to Louis Riel Day that was hosted at Old Fort William. It was a meaningful day recognizing the historical significance of Louis Riel and the Métis community.

Beyond Hunger Dinner

It was great to attend the Beyond Hunger Dinner at the Conmee Community Centre on Saturday. Such events really bring our community together.

It was also nice to catch up with Gilles Councillor Bill Groenheide, Mayor Sheila Maxwell, and Thunder Bay Councillor Kasey Etreni. A big thank you to everyone who made this event possible!

Meeting with Erin Arps, Katie Twomi, and Greg Toffner

Premier Doug Ford and myself were pleased to meet with Erin Arps from Kakabeka, Katie Twomi from Thunder Bay, and Greg Toffner CEO of Ontario association of medical radiation services to discuss plans for addressing diagnostic imaging wait times and the shortages of MRTs and DMSs in Ontario.

Meeting with TBPS in Queens Park

Yesterday, I had the great opportunity to meet with Thunder Bay Police Service members that were in Queens Park on behalf of the police association of Ontario.
